GREETINGS COACHES,

Regarding the Brockport Modified Invitational on Saturday May 9:

If you are planning on going to the Brighton Relays, then you will have reached the maximum 9 meets allowed for the season.  Is Brighton planning on having this meet?  If not, please let us know so everyone can get it off the schedule and we will have room for one more meet.

If you are running a meet on Friday May 8, then you would be unable to compete the 9th because of the 2 night rule (you can’t run modified kids on back to back days).  If you would like to come to our meet instead, why not contact the coach of your opponent on the 8th and both agree to come to Brockport on Saturday???

Coaches, we are excited to run this meet and would really like to know if we will have enough interest.  Please, if you think you might run, contact myself or Joe Flanagan asap.

Happy running

At last night’s meeting, Victor proposed changing our meet line ups by taking away the 50m, 75m, and 4x200m track events and replacing them with a 200m hurdle race and a sprint medley relay (100, 100, 200, 400).  The proposed line up is:

200m Hurdles

4x100m

1500m

100m

400m

55m Hurdles

800m

200m

Sprint Medley

Some of the points behind the rational of the proposed change is to act more like a stepping stone to varsity & not be so sprint heavy.  I would really like everyone’s feedback on this issue.  Please use this blog as a discussion between coaches.  If a change is truly desired in any way shape or form, please express your interest.  Similarly, if you like the way things are or there is a component of this change you disagree with, please let us know and state why.  Thank you very much.

Hello everyone, I hope you enjoyed our short pre-season meeting in Brighton the other night.  Through out the season, there are always questions and concerns that coaches have, ideas for relays or invitationals, and other information that needs to be passed along or discussed.  This year, I have created this blog for the coaches to share their ideas and/or concerns with our season.  This site will be monitored by me and all posts must be approved before going on the site.  Please use this site if you have any questions or concerns; as with education, if one coach has a question, it is probably on the minds of the rest of the coaches.  Good luck this season and I look forward to working with all of you!
